About Me
I'm a native English speaker, specialising in audiovisual translation and subtitling.
The world we live in today has seen a rapid increase in the amount of content online. Translations and subtitles are a key way to connect with wider audiences. However, the recent rise of AI has seen a sharp drop in quality of these services. I'm here to offer a bespoke, human-led service that ensures your audiences receive the professional quality they deserve.
I first fell in love with the Spanish language and culture at school, which only deepened through my university studies and time spent living in the country. This passion lead me on the path to becoming a translator to help more people gain access to the Spanish-speaking world.
Whatever your need, I want to help you connect with new audiences and get the most out of your products by providing expertly crafted English translations and subtitles.

Qualifications
To follow my love of translation, I completed my MA in Audiovisual Translation and Localisation from the University of Leeds. This equipped me with all the key technical and linguistic skills needed to produce clear, accurate subtitles and translations. It also gave me expertise in accessibility practices, creating subtitles for d/Deaf and hard of hearing audiences and audio descriptions for blind and partially sighted audiences.
My BA in Hispanic Studies and Music from the University of Liverpool gave me my first insight into the complexities of translation and sparked my interest in pursuing it as a career. During this time, I spent four years deepening my knowledge of Spanish culture through in-depth studies of Spanish and Latin American film, art, literature, and politics. This included a year living in Northern Spain during which I worked as a Language Assistant, allowing me to share and exchange cultural knowledge within two primary schools.
Other Projects
As well as being a professional audiovisual translator, I have a passion for literary translation and take on projects translating books and short stories when possible. In 2023, I received the Spanish Translation Prize from the University of Liverpool for my translation of excerpts from author Elizabeth Duval’s memoir, Reina.
I also believe that translation and accessibility can be effective tools in helping to support different communities and I undertake volunteering projects for various charities. This often includes translation, subtitling, or transcribing key documents to help these organisations and the people they support.
I am also the translation specialist on the editorial board for OffKilter: Journal of Queer Arts and Politics, which publishes work by emerging queer creatives exploring the political dimensions of queer art. I enjoy reading the creative translations as well as having the opportunity to engage with emerging translators on their new work.
Not just a translator...
When I'm not working on translation and subtitling projects, I love to get creative in lots of other ways! As a qualified musician I love to spend time playing my instruments and performing with local bands and choirs.
If I'm not doing this, you can often find me in the kitchen preparing some baked treats to share with friends and family!
